Our Elementary School program is a combination of content mastery, academic skill building and homework support. We’ll tailor a program based on your goals (e.g.,  improve reading comprehension, get ahead in math fluency, complete homework or develop strong study habits…). Our goal is to empower your child with skills that build academic confidence and inspire a love of learning.

Our Middle School and High School programs are focused on homework.  We are the headquarters for reducing homework frustration, mastering academic concepts, improving study skills and studying for exams.

Anna TrevinoAnna Trevino

Elementary School Tutor 

BA in International Studies & German, Trinity University – expected 2016

Annalisa is a senior at Trinity University double majoring in International Studies and German. She has 3+ years of tutoring experience, working in the past for the School of Science and Technology. Anna is excited to continue working with kids of all ages at The Learning Lab – she loves how rewarding tutoring can be for both parties involved! In her spare time she enjoys lazing about with her cat, and going to concerts.



Gabi Racz Gabi Racz

Elementary School Tutor 

BA in Business Administration, Trinity University – expected 2018

Gabi Racz is a sophomore at Trinity University. She has been working at the Learning Lab for a year now. She is a member of the National Society of Colligate Scholars and Alpha Kappa Psi, a national business fraternity. Previously she volunteered regularly as a reading tutor for under privlidged elementary students. She also worked as a camp counselor at Camp Longhorn and The Lab at Lakewood.



Haly LeFloreHaly LeFlore

Elementary School Tutor 

BA in psychology, Trinity University – expected 2016, MA in Teaching, Trinity University – expected 2017

Haly LeFlore is a senior at Trinity University and is planning to complete the elementary Masters of Arts in Teaching program at Trinity University following her graduation. She spent part of her spring semester in a Woodridge classroom and really loved working with the children. Haly has been part of the Trinity choir and in her free time loves singing, reading and cooking.




Ariana DuvallAriana Halsey Martinez Duvall

Double major in Entrepreneurship and Communications at Trinity University – expected 2018

Ariana H. Martinez-Duvall is a sophomore at Trinity University. She has worked as a private college counselor for high school seniors and taught high school debate classes. She is looking forward to continuing her work at the Learning Lab and in her free time she enjoys reading, horseback riding, and visiting her family in Mexico City.




Michael MillerMichael Miller

Junior High School Tutor 

BA in Urban Studies and Art, Trinity University – expected 2017

Michael is currently a junior at Trinity University.  He is double majoring in urban studies and art with hopes to help redevelop areas of Shreveport, Louisiana — his hometown. Although his true passion lies with the arts, he still has a great love for science, having taken engineering classes and numerous math classes at Trinity.  He has plenty of experience and patience from working with kids while being a camp councilor.  Outside of academics he also likes to play soccer, run, and go backpacking.



Jennifer MartinezJennifer Martinez

Junior High School Tutor 

BA in Urban Studies, Trinity University – expected 2016

Jennifer Martinez is a Trinity University Senior who wants to make a difference in children’s lives.  She plans to work in Education in the future. She is a first generation college student who attended high school at TMI. Previously, she worked at KIPP Aspire Middle school as a tutor for math and reading. She is very excited to start working as a individual tutor at The Learning Lab. Her hobbies including crafting and hanging out with friends.



Rebekah VahusRebekah Vahus

Junior High School Tutor 

BA in Anthropology – expected graduation 2018

Rebekah Vashus is a sophomore at Trinity University. She works as an assistant for the Sociology and Anthropology department on campus, and is also a member of the Trinity Bee Alliance. Rebekah has experience with private tutoring in the areas of SAT/ACT and TAKS test prep. She also has extensive child care experience – babysitting, nannying and working at the daycare in the Onion Creek Country Club in Austin, TX. In her free time, Rebekah enjoys hula hooping, reading and writing.



Nico Dwarica

BS in Engineering Science & Chemistry, Trinity University – expected 2017

Born in New Jersey, but raised in San Antonio, Nico Dwarica is a sophomore at Trinity University. In addition to being an active student, Nico is also a researcher for the chemistry and engineering departments. He has always had an interest in science and how things work. With over a year of experience as a private tutor, Nico is excited to continue working as a tutor specializing in chemistry, physics and mathematics. His passion is chemistry but also enjoys archery, reading and cooking.



Alex LineberryAlex Lineberry

High School Tutor

BS in Psychology, Trinity University – expected 2018

Alex is originally from Alabama, but has lived most of her life in Minnesota. She was a ballet dancer for fifteen years and completed the Kumon Reading Program in 2008. Alex has experience as a nanny and camp counselor; this will be her second year at The Learning Lab. In addition to her Psychology major, Alex is taking courses in the pre-medical track. She likes to listen to music and take dancing classes with her friends in her free time.



Lucky ByasLucky Byas

High School Tutor

BA in Mathematics – degree expected 2016

Originally from Fort Worth, TX, Lucky Byas is a senior at Trinity University, studying Mathematics, Sport Management, and Philosophy. She’s active both on and off campus and has a passion for sports and leadership studies. She recently finished her 8 month internship in marketing analytics with Spurs Sports & Entertainment and is the current president of Gamma Chi Delta Sorority. She is also a peer leader for the Sorority Body Project and an active member of Texas Freedom Network, SheLeader, and Trinity University Math Society. Her hobbies include yoga, going out to eat with friends, and attending retreats and conferences on leadership, sports, and social issues.

Maggie McMahon is a writer and entrepreneur who lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband and two sons.   After years of advocating for her children’s special educational needs, Maggie left her corporate career and opened The Learning Lab.  She believes that learning should be fun, but recognizes that frustration and worry or boredom and routine can sometimes get in the way. Maggie is a passionate advocate for parents of gifted learners and children managing mental health issues.
