Game Strategy

If you like to play board and card games or want to improve your strategic thinking skills, join us for strategy games. Using some of your favorite games (plus some new ones), we’ll introduce and practice planning ahead, scenario planning & analysis and calculated risk taking. Games vary by ability and may include: Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, 42, Dominoes, Spades, Risk, Battleship, Stratego, Scrabble, Checkers & Chess.

Study Skills

Do you need to shift learning into high gear? Do you spend more time on homework than you want? Join us to improve your efficiency, build confidence and stay organized. We’ll cover:

  • time & task management,
  • goal setting,
  • organizational skills,
  • homework/project planning,
  • note-taking strategies,
  • test-taking strategies and
  • communication skills.

SAT  or ACT Prep

You need to be at your best when you take the SAT. Our month long course will introduce the test format and organization, question types, and main concepts to make sure you are ready – academically and psychologically. We’ll cover grammar, critical reading, paragraph construction, writing skills, geometry, algebra, word problems and data analysis.  Don’t worry – you’ll get plenty of practice taking the tests so you’ll be ready. Plus, we primarily use materials from The College Board, so your time will be focused learning how to master the tests and how it tests your knowledge. The course includes:

  • 18 hours of in-class instruction
  • Customized study plan, based on practice test performance
  • 2 proctored exams, 15+ practice exams available
  • One-year online instruction and practice tests

Sundays, 3 – 5 & Wednesdays, 6 – 8
SAT Prep – February 2 – 26
ACT Prep – March 2 – April 2, skipping 3/9 & 3/12 for Spring Break
SAT Prep – April 2 – 30, skipping 4/20 for Easter

AP Exam Prep

If your child is taking an AP exam this May and needs a structured review in advance, give us a call. We are currently forming AP Exam review sessions.  Review sessions will begin in late March and run through April – just in time for the May exams.  The Exam Prep will include:

  • 6 – 2 hour review sessions
  • 1 diagnostic preview test
  • 2 – 4 practice exams
  • A personalized study plan
  • Content instruction & test taking strategies

Our instructors can conduct reviews for Calculus (AB/BC), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Economics (Micro or Macro), History (US, European, or World) and Spanish. Class sizes will be small – between 3 and 10 students.
